Position Overview:

 DFYF is seeking a School-Based Licensed Social Worker (LSW, LISW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, LPCC) who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.  The role of the school-based clinician is to provide counseling, advocacy, and support to youth within their designated school.  Collaboration with key school professionals, along with parents is a vital component.  As a school-based clinician you will conduct diagnostic mental health assessments, create treatment plans, and provide ongoing therapeutic services.

Position Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work/Counseling preferred or Bachelor’s in Social Work, with LSW
  • Valid and current LSW, LISW, LPC or LPCC licensure in the state of Ohio or working toward licensure is required
  • Experience working with children and families
  • Prior experience working with schools and school personnel
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills
  • Strong diagnostic assessment skills
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance

As a clinician you will conduct diagnostic mental health assessments, create treatment plans, and provide ongoing weekly therapeutic services.  Collaboration with key school professionals, along with parents is a vital component.  All clinicians are trained in our resiliency-oriented and trauma-informed framework and services are provided on an outreach basis – in client’s homes, schools, or community setting in order to reduce barriers to services.

Position Overview:

Directions for Youth and Families is looking for an energetic and creative individual to be a part of our After School and Summer Programing to fill the position of Part-time Dance Instructor. Responsibilities include lesson planning, facilitating youth dance instruction, rehearsals, preparation for annual performances and additional tasks requested by Supervisor or Program Manager. Applicant should have experience and knowledge of various styles of dance (Ballet, hip-hop, classical, contemporary). Dance Instructor should possess the skills necessary to instruct and educate youth in the various styles of dance.

Dance Instructors will be responsible for preparing youth for quarterly performances that will highlight the new skills obtained by the youth. Applicant should be comfortable working with youth between the ages of 8 - 18 years of age, completing all required documentation daily, and possess basic computer skills.

Afterschool programming hours are Monday-Friday; hours are from 3 – 8 pm, summer hours 9 – 3 pm, and occasional special events that may require coming in prior or staying later. Applicant should possess a valid driver’s licenses and insurance as they may be required to transport youth home or to special events.  Bachelor’s degree preferred and experience facilitating dance activities and working with youth required.

Position overview:

Directions for Youth and Families is seeking an energetic and creative individual to be a part of our summer and afterschool program to fill the position of part-time Education Coordinator. Responsibilities include the implementation and overseeing of all educational programming and activities in our afterschool center.  The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the oversight of the Homework Help and Stride Academy programs.  Additionally, key staff members will collaborate with parents/schools to ensure school goals are being met.  The position also allows for educational group activities that inspire youth learning, in a creative, fun, engaging way.  The ideal candidate should possess excellent engagement skills, ability to redirect youth, facilitate activities, multi-task, meet deadlines, and collaborate with parents/schools. Additional training's focused on trauma-informed care will be provided.

The Education Instructor position is part-time.  Applicants should have a strong desire to work with youth between the ages of 8-18 years old.  Afterschool programming hours are daily, Monday – Friday from 3-8pm and Summer programming hours are daily Monday – Friday 9-3pm.  Basic computer skills, documentation, and coordination of musical performances are required.
