Directions for Youth & Families’ treatment services provide counseling, community support, and clinical services to youth and their families. A resiliency-oriented/trauma-informed agency, we help individuals and families address and overcome a range of issues including:
- School challenges
- Sexual abuse
- Delinquency
- Domestic violence
- Depression and anxiety
- Physical abuse/neglect
- Family conflict
- Grief and loss
- Substance abuse
Most programs are provided on an outreach basis – in client’s homes, schools, or other community settings – to reduce barriers to treatment and provide services in the environment they are needed.
Outreach Counseling Program (OCP)
Home/school/community-based individual and family counseling for youth ages 5-18 and their families. Services include counseling, community support services, advocacy, and referral.
School Connections
Partnership with Columbus City Schools, South-Western City Schools, and Worthington City Schools to provide counseling and prevention support services to students and families.
Building Bright Futures –youth at risk for school failure
Home/school/community-based individual and family counseling for youth in grades 1-12 who are at risk for school failure. Services include counseling, community support services, advocacy, and referral.
PROMISES – for survivors of sexual abuse
Home/school/community-based individual and family counseling for youth ages 7-18 who are survivors of reported or suspected sexual abuse.
Children Who Witness Violence
Home/school/community-based individual and family counseling for youth ages 5-18 to reduce traumatic effects of witnessing violence and prevent future violence.
Children of Murdered Parents and Siblings (COMPS)
Home/school/community-based individual and family counseling for youth ages 5-18 who have lost a loved one to homicide.
Healthy Alternatives for Youth – substance use counseling
Home/school/community-based individual and family counseling for youth ages 12 -18 who have substance use issues. Services can include individual counseling, family counseling, and case management services.
Youth Pride
Home/school/community-based individual and family counseling for LGBTQIA+ Youth ages 10-18.
Teen Parent Connection (TPC)
Serves pregnant or parenting youth through age 22 and their families. Home/school/community-based individual and family counseling offered along with community support and case management.
Office-Based Counseling Program
Counseling services are available for children, adolescents, and adults.
